The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) provides ongoing monthly financial support to help eligible low‑income households lower their electricity bills. If you qualify, a monthly credit is applied directly to your electricity bill, helping make electricity costs more affordable over time. To learn more, Ontario Energy Board | Ontario Electricity Support Program.
Who May Be Eligible?
OESP offers a monthly on‑bill credit that reduces the amount you pay for electricity. The credit amount depends on:
How many people live in your household, and
Your total household after‑tax income
For example, a household of four people with an annual after‑tax income of $65,000 may receive a monthly credit of $40. Some households may qualify for higher monthly credits between $52 to $113, including those who:
Use electric heating
Rely on certain electricity‑dependent medical devices
Are Indigenous customers or live with Indigenous family members
